Video Of The Week

June 30, 2009

Jurassic Park was a groundbreaking film as Steven Spielberg brought dino’s back from extinction. It is also film I find myself quoting allot with my friends. This brings me to this video. My friend and animator Robert Miller (UPSLYNX) directed me to this reenactment video.

Mission Impossible 4 Moving Forward

June 30, 2009

Mission Impossible 4 is a go! The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that JJ Abrams and Tom Cruise are co-producing the next installment on the Mission: Impossible, which Paramount is looking to release in May 2011. No word on what writers, if any, have been hired but I’m sure that Abrams will have some hand in the creation of the story as he mentions in a recent TV Guide article, “Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we  are pursuing.”  Abrams has not yet said if he will be returning as director or not, but if he does I’m sure there wont be a lack of fans to fill the seats.

The Cap is Back!!

June 30, 2009

On Monday with the release of the much anticipated Captain America #600, Marvel had a major announcement. Steve Rogers, the original Captain America will be retuning in a five book limited series “Captain America: Reborn” written by Ed Brubaker and drawn by Bryan Hitch. It seems everyone from CNN to The Tonight Show is reporting on this. Rogers was gunned down back in Captain America #25 (pictured). After his death, his former sidekick James “Bucky” Barns, who had recently been resurrected as the villain turned anti-hero Winter Soldier, took up the mantel and has been fighting crime in his mentor’s wake. What does the return of Steve Rogers mean for the Marvel Universe? Will he force Bucky to turn over his mask or will he take up a mentor like persona? All we can do is sit back, read, and wait, and, as faithful readers say “In Brubaker we trust.” Captain America #600 is on sale now at your local comic book shop and Captain America: Reborn #1 will be available on July 1st.
